Digital natives and digital immigrants have great differences in
many ways. Not only are their ways of learning, but also their knowledge and
attitudes toward technology. To start with, they are essentially different
according to their definition, which lies in the time they were born. And, the
key year is in 1980 because of the coming of the Usenet and the bulletin board
system. Second, they also have different learning styles. For example, digital
natives use lots of resources on the internet and most digital immigrants just
use paper resources or old strategies. That’s also why digital natives are
always faster than digital immigrants when it comes to making use of the
information on Net. Though some clips about difference between digital natives
or immigrants have been shared during class, and it really seemed that there is
a deep generation gap between them; however, they can still teach each other.
After all, they are both live in this twenty-first century, the generation of
Internet.
